Beautiful Botswana

After Namibia, we went to Botswana. We took makoros (dugout canoes) into the Okavango Delta.

We also went for a cruise along the Chobe River, which is home to lots of wildlife.

Hippos are notorious for being territorial and kill more people in Africa than any other large animal. The Guardian has an interesting article on “What it is like to be swallowed by a hippo… time passes very slowly when you’re in a hippo’s mouth.”
